Job Opportunity: Experienced Carpenter
(5+ Years)

Prince Edward County / Kingston Area

Are you an experienced carpenter looking to work with a small, skilled team on thoughtful, well-built projects?
Aerecura Sustainable Builders is hiring a skilled carpenter with strong potential for contract renewal.This role focuses on high-quality carpentry and construction work on a distinctive rammed earth home and select sustainable renovation projects. No prior rammed earth experience is required, though opportunities to learn and expand into sustainable and natural building techniques are available for those interested.

Position Details

  • Pay Rate: $27–34/hour (based on experience)

  • Location: Prince Edward County team
    (Preference given to candidates who live within ~1 hour of PEC / Kingston)

  • Schedule: Full-time contract, with potential renewal

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, roofing systems, window
    and door installation, finish carpentry, and renovation work

  • Work independently and as part of a small crew to execute tasks efficiently and to a high
    standard

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, and details

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site

  • Collaborate respectfully with crew members, clients, and trade partners

  • Show initiative, problem-solving skills, and pride in quality craftsmanship

  • Opportunity to participate in and learn sustainable building methods (including rammed earth),
    if interested

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on construction and carpentry experience

  • Demonstrated competency across core carpentry skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workflow

  • Physically capable of performing construction work for up to 8 hours per day, including lifting 50 lbs

  • Comfortable working at heights, on scaffolding, ladders, and uneven terrain

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat, cold—when safe)

  • Valid G Driver’s License

  • Must provide and use personal safety gear, including:

    • CSA-approved work boots

    • Hard hat

    • Eye protection

    • Tool belt

    • Gloves

    • Weather-appropriate clothing

Assets (Not Required)

  • Experience with sustainable, green, or natural building techniques

  • WHMIS

  • Standard First Aid

  • Working at Heights certification
