Salem Road Stone House
Prince Edward County, Ontario
Heritage Renovation & Addition Upgrade
This beautiful stone century home had tremendous character, but a later lean-to addition was underperforming and poorly suited to year-round use. Uninsulated and roughly constructed, the space was uncomfortable, inefficient, and disconnected from the quality of the original home.
Working closely with the homeowners, Aerecura transformed the addition into a functional and comfortable living space designed for both work and play. Improvements to the building envelope, structure, and interior finishes created a space that feels integrated with the existing home while dramatically improving comfort and usability throughout the seasons.
The project focused on respecting the character of the historic stone house while addressing the realities of contemporary living. By improving the performance of the addition rather than replacing it entirely, the renovation extended the useful life of the existing structure and created valuable new living space for the homeowners.
