Created in collaboration with SOCA and SHIFT Landscape Architecture, the Samuel and Martha Adams Memorial honours the legacy of one of Oakville's earliest Black families and their lasting contributions to the community.
Located in Burnet Park, just steps from where the Adams family once lived, the memorial creates a place for gathering, reflection, and connection to a history that helped shape both Oakville and Canada. Salvaged foundation stones from the Adams family home are integrated into the project, grounding the site in material memory and linking the memorial directly to the family's story.
