Education and Outreach
As Ontario's leading rammed earth builders, we've learned that creating a more sustainable built environment begins with sharing knowledge, asking better questions, and helping others discover what's possible.
We collaborate with architects, educational institutions, community organizations, and industry professionals by offering presentations, workshops, project tours, and speaking engagements.
Whether introducing someone to rammed earth for the first time or discussing advances in high-performance construction, we believe education is an essential part of creating a more sustainable built environment.
Architectural Education Sessions
We currently offer educational presentations for Eastern Ontario based architectural firms interested in incorporating rammed earth into their work.
Sessions introduce the fundamentals of rammed earth construction, wall assemblies, detailing, performance, and the opportunities and considerations of designing with the material.
Speaker Series & Community Events
If there’s one thing our team loves more than building sustainably, it’s speaking about sustainable building.
We regularly speak at conferences, community events, industry gatherings, and educational programs, sharing the lessons and skills we’ve learned from nearly two decades of practice.
If you're planning an event and looking for a speaker, we'd be happy to hear from you.
Public Workshops
During the summer we host public workshops that give participants the opportunity to experience rammed earth firsthand.
These workshops are designed to connect people with one of the world's oldest—and most relevant—building materials.
Join our newsletter to be the first to hear about future events.
Any up and coming workshops are listed below.
Student Workshops
Supporting the next generation of designers and builders has always been important to us - we’re a family business after all.
We offer hands-on workshops for Ontario educational institutions studying sustainable construction, architecture, and natural building. Think there’s a way to add rammed earth to your built landscape curriculum? We’d love to be a part!
At this time, workshops are offered exclusively through higher educational institutions.
Upcoming Workshops
Join us for a two day hands-on rammed earth workshop in beautiful Prince Edward County. These workshops are an excellent opportunity for landscape professionals and enthusiasts alike to learn more about this sustainable building technique and how it can be applied to functional hardscape features.
You will work alongside master rammed earth builder and Aerecura co-founder, Graham Cavalier, learning how to design and construct using rammed earth techniques.
The workshops result in permanent rammed earth features on site.
This workshop is OAA ConEd Program credit eligible.
