Miranda Memorial Garden
Prince Edward County, Ontario • Rammed Earth Memorial & Landscape Feature • 2025
Created in memory of Miranda Frum, the Miranda Memorial Garden was designed as a place for gathering, reflection, and connection within the landscape of Glenwood Cemetery in Prince Edward County.
Working alongside the Frum family, designer Jeffrey Forrest of Stacklab, and landscape designer Ben O'Brien of Wild By Design, Aerecura crafted the garden's rammed earth structures, including the headstone, seating walls, and retaining elements.
Stones, earth, and materials gathered from places that held significance throughout Miranda's life were carefully incorporated into the walls and headstone, creating a physical connection between memory, landscape, and place. Layers of colour within the earth reference Lake Ontario, the fields of Prince Edward County, and the surrounding sky.
Grounded in natural materials and designed to endure, the garden reflects the capacity of thoughtful construction to hold meaning beyond function alone — creating a space that honours a life while becoming part of the landscape itself.
