Wellington Carriage House
Wellington, Ontario
Heritage Renovation & Adaptive Reuse Renovation
Originally built more than a century ago, this carriage house had sat empty and unused for many years before being reimagined as a functional and welcoming space for this client.
The project transformed the existing structure into a two-car garage with a self-contained Net Zero short-term accommodation above, creating new living space while preserving the character and history of the original building. A private second-floor patio provides additional outdoor living space and offers a quiet retreat overlooking the surrounding property.
Rather than replacing the structure, the renovation focused on extending its useful life and adapting it to meet contemporary needs. Careful restoration and thoughtful upgrades allowed the building to retain its historic character.
