Elements: Rammed Earth Outdoor Living

This project demonstrates how rammed earth can extend beyond the home to create stunning and functional outdoor spaces.

The outdoor shower is freestanding rammed earth walls, creating a private retreat beside the pool. While an outdoor shower might seem like an unusual application, rammed earth is a perfect fit. Unlike wood, it won't rot, and they are naturally resistant to mould and mildew.

The home's outdoor fireplace showcases another unique application of insulated rammed earth construction. Rather than building a separate landscape feature, the fireplace is integrated directly into the exterior wythe of the home's rammed earth wall. This thoughtful design transforms the outside of the house into a natural gathering place.
